This policy explains how GridShift Creative handles information collected through this website. It reflects how the site actually works today. If the site changes, this policy will be updated.

Who we are

GridShift Creative is an Ottawa-based brand, website and marketing design studio. For any privacy question, email hello@gridshiftcreative.com.

Information you give us

The only information this site asks for is what you enter in the enquiry form: your name, email address, and optionally your business name, website or social link, the type of help you need, a budget range, a timeline and your message.

Form submissions are processed by Netlify, our website host, and delivered to us by email. We use what you send to reply to your enquiry, understand what you need and, if it goes further, to prepare a proposal.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our host records standard server log data when a page is requested, which can include IP address, browser type, referring page and time of request. This is used for security and to keep the site running.

Fonts are served from this website rather than from a third party. Your browser does not contact Google, or any other outside company, to display this site. Nothing on any page is loaded from an external server.

Cookies and analytics

This website does not set any cookies. It does not use analytics, advertising or tracking pixels, and it does not build a profile of you or share your browsing with anyone.

The site stores one small item in your browser, and only for the visit itself. It records that the opening GridShift animation has already played, so you do not sit through it again while moving between pages. It holds no personal information, is never sent to us or anyone else, and your browser discards it as soon as you close the tab. It exists purely so the site behaves sensibly, which is why no consent banner is needed for it.

Because there are no optional or tracking cookies, there is no cookie preference control to manage.

If we add analytics or any optional cookies later, we will update this policy and add an appropriate consent control before those cookies are used.

Consent

You choose whether to contact us. Submitting the enquiry form is how you provide the information and gives us your consent to use it to respond. You can withdraw consent, or ask us to stop using your information, by emailing us. Withdrawing consent may mean we cannot continue a conversation already underway.

Marketing email

We send occasional email to businesses about the services described on this site. We do this only where a business has published a contact address publicly and the message relates to their work. We do not buy, rent or scrape contact lists.

Details you send through the enquiry form are used to answer your enquiry. They are not added to a marketing list.

Every marketing email we send identifies GridShift Creative, gives a postal address and a working reply address, and carries an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing takes effect promptly and you do not need to give a reason. You can also ask us to stop at any time by emailing us, and we will remove you and keep a record of the request so you are not contacted again.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of providers to run the site: Netlify (hosting and form delivery) and Mailchimp (delivery of the marketing email described above). Typefaces are served from this site rather than from a third party. Email you send us is handled by our email provider. These providers process data on our behalf or as a result of your browser’s request; we do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.

Where information is processed

Our providers operate internationally, so information may be processed or stored on servers outside Canada, including in the United States. Where that happens, the information may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.

Disclosure

We do not share enquiry information with third parties except where it is necessary to provide the service you asked for, or where we are required to by law.

Retention

We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as it is useful for the relationship or as required for business records, then delete it. You may ask us to delete your enquiry sooner.

Safeguards

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, including serving the site over HTTPS and limiting who can access enquiry email. No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Access, correction and questions

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@gridshiftcreative.com. We will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with how we handled your concern, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the website or our practices change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
